Meet The Team

Each team member was asked to write something about themselves - anything they wanted to share. The only thing that had to be mentioned in their introduction was their experience within the entertainment industry and what they have to offer...

Passion
My main passion and also my main activity is playing and making music. I play the guitar for more than 6 years now and bass guitar for about 4 years. I have my own band, called Double Cross, for several years now. I play guitar in the band, write most of the songs and I even do backing vocals. The music we play can be described as (alternative) rock. And that is also the main influence for me. I get inspired by some of my favorite bands that include : Muse, Queens Of The Stone Age, Metallica and many more. Beside rock and metal I am open for any kind of music.

Experience
The main experience that I have is with my band. We have played several gigs over the years. We get better every time, so I have gained some stage performance experience. And know what to expect when doing a gig. This would include things such as : how a sound check/line-check works, when a artist needs to be at the venue and a little bit on what kind of deals you can make with venues. I have also arranged some gigs for the band. This means contacting the venue and making agreements of us playing there.

Knowledge
I know how an evening is arranged from a band point of view. How line and sound check work, what is included in a standard back-line, and what stuff you mainly have to supply for yourself (depend on the location of course). I also know what should be included in a promotional kit for an artist. We, as a band, are working on one right now.

Knowledge
Most of the knowledge I’ve gained during the years, has been during my time around school. That’s why I think it is very important to have other things to do than school or work. I will talk about my hobbies (music, my band and scouting) below, but I can say beforehand that they are my main source of information during my life.

Experiences and Passions
I have couple of hobbies which I love to do. One of them is music of course. I play the guitar since 2003, and the bass since 2005. After a while I started a band with Shane Hagens, called ‘Double Cross’. We have had quite some live experience, and we also had to arrange our own bookings. On stage, I have gained quite some experience with sound- and line-checks. And also with the stage set-up, and contacting venues.
Another hobby of mine is scouting. I am a member of my group since 1998, and a scouts (boys and girls from 12-16 years old) leader since 2007. For my group, I also have done a lot of projects to raise money or to get media attention, but also to arrange camps and weekends of course. So that arranging part is also quite present here. I also like to live a bit more primitive once in a while.
I used to be really interested in technical information as well, and I have watched quite some hours of Discovery Channel during my life. TV is of course also the main learning source for English amongst a lot of people.
